How QR check-in works
Each registered participant receives a unique QR code in their email confirmation. The organizer scans the QR code at the entrance — the system instantly identifies the participant and marks them as "Registered".
Preparing for check-in
Enable check-in for the event
By default, check-in is enabled for all published events. Make sure tickets with QR codes were sent to participants:
- For paid events — the QR code is sent automatically after payment confirmation.
- For free events — the QR code is sent after registration confirmation.
If a participant did not receive the QR code, resend the ticket from their card: Participant card -> "Resend ticket".
Download the list for offline use
If there may be no internet at the venue:
- Open the event -> "Participants" in the tikento app.
- The list is automatically synced and cached for offline use.
- Make sure the cache is up to date — press the refresh button before going offline.
Scanning a QR code
Via PWA (browser or installed app)
- Open the event -> "Check-in" (QR scanner icon at the top of the "Participants" page).
- Allow camera access.
- Point the camera at the QR code on the participant's phone or printed ticket.
- The system will display the name, ticket type, and status.
- Click "Confirm" or wait for automatic check-in (if auto-confirm mode is enabled).
Via Telegram Mini App
In the Telegram Mini App, check-in works the same way. Open the event, go to the "Check-in" section, and use the built-in scanner.
Manual check-in
If the QR code cannot be read or the participant arrived without a ticket:
- In the "Participants" section, find the participant by name or email.
- Open their card.
- Click "Mark check-in".
- Confirm.
Repeat check-in
When scanning an already checked-in participant, the system:
- Shows a warning "Participant already checked in"
- Displays the time of the first check-in
- Offers to ignore or undo the first check-in (for example, if there was an error)
Check-in analytics
In the "Analytics" -> "Check-in" section you can view:
- Total checked in vs. registered
- Arrival dynamics over time (useful for load distribution)
- List of no-show participants
