Draft
The initial status of all new events. A draft:
- Is not visible to attendees (even via direct link)
- Does not accept registrations
- Is not indexed
- Can be edited without restrictions
A draft is your workspace. Take your time preparing the form, tickets, and description.
Published
After clicking "Publish", the event becomes available. In the "Published" status:
- A public page and registration link appear
- The registration form starts accepting submissions
- The website widget becomes active
- The event is indexed on tikento (if
is_public = true)
What can be changed after publishing
Most parameters can still be edited after publishing:
- Name, description, cover image
- Date, time, venue
- Registration form (changes apply to new registrations)
- Ticket types and prices
Cannot be changed: event slug, UUID.
Visibility flag (is_public)
This is independent of the status. Even a published event can be private — in that case, it won't appear in search on tikento but is still accessible via direct link.
Completed
The status changes automatically a few minutes after the event's end date and time. If the event is not manually completed, it will be completed on schedule.
In the "Completed" status:
- The registration form is closed (new submissions are not accepted)
- Attendee data and payment history are preserved
- Analytics can be viewed and data exported
- Cannot be reverted to "Published"
To complete an event early: Overview > "Complete early".
Cancelled
The status is set manually by the organizer. Cancellation is irreversible.
Steps:
- Open the event > Overview > "Cancel event".
- Provide a cancellation reason (sent to attendees in a notification).
- If there are paid registrations, choose whether to initiate refunds.
- Confirm the action.
In the "Cancelled" status:
- The registration form is closed
- Attendees receive a cancellation notification
- Data can still be viewed and refunds processed
Duplicating an event
For recurring events (annual conferences, regular webinars), use the "Duplicate" option in the event menu. The copy is created in "Draft" status with all settings from the original — form, tickets, description — but without attendees and transactions.
