Ticket model in tikento
Each ticket type in tikento is a template (TicketDefinition) that describes the access type, pricing, quota, and sale period. When a participant purchases a ticket, a specific instance (TicketInstance) with a unique QR code is created from the template.
Pricing types
Free
The participant registers without payment. Suitable for:
- Open lectures and meetups
- Free online streams
- Non-profit events
- Events where payment happens outside tikento
Free tickets incur no tikento commissions on any plan.
Fixed price
A single price for all buyers. The simplest option for paid events.
Examples: a standard ticket for 3,000 RUB, a VIP ticket for 10,000 RUB.
Tiered pricing
Multiple price levels for a single ticket type. Each tier activates by date, enabling an "early bird" strategy: the early price is lower, and the price increases closer to the event.

Donation
The participant chooses the amount. You can set a minimum amount or leave it unrestricted. Suitable for:
- Charity events
- Creative gatherings with a voluntary contribution
- "Pay what you feel" events
Access types
Each ticket defines what the participant receives:

| Offline | Physical attendance at the event. Verified by QR code at the entrance. |
| Recording | Access to the event recording. The participant receives a link after the event ends. |
| Subscription | Ongoing access to the event content or a series of events. |
Access types can be combined within a single event. For example, you can create a "Standard" ticket (offline only) and a "Full" ticket (offline + recording).
Quota
For each ticket type, you can set a maximum quantity. When the quota is exhausted, the ticket stops appearing in the registration form (or is shown as "Sold out").
The quota is counted separately for each ticket type. If you have 100 standard and 20 VIP tickets, filling the standard quota does not affect VIP availability.
Reservation
When payment begins, a temporary reservation is created. The reserved ticket is held against the quota during payment processing. If payment is not completed within the reservation period, the reservation is released and the ticket becomes available again.
Sale period
Set the start and end dates for each ticket type:
- Start date — the ticket will appear in the registration form only after this date. Use this for announcements with a delayed sales start.
- End date — after this date, the ticket stops selling. Useful for early bird tickets or to close registration a few days before the event.
If no dates are specified, the ticket is available as long as the event is in published status.
Ticket validity period
For tickets with "Recording" or "Subscription" access types, you can specify a validity period. After it expires, access to the content is revoked.
Creating a ticket type
- Open the event -> "Tickets" tab.
- Click "Add ticket type".
- Fill in:
- Name — displayed to participants in the form (e.g., "Standard", "VIP", "Online")
- Pricing type — free, fixed, tiered, or donation
- Price (for fixed) or price tiers (for tiered)
- Access type — offline, recording, subscription
- Quota — maximum quantity (optional)
- Sale period — start and end dates (optional)
- Click "Save changes".
Deferred save
Ticket editing in tikento uses a deferred save mechanism. All changes (adding, editing, deleting ticket types) accumulate as a draft. Until you click "Save changes", nothing changes on the server.
This protects against accidental modifications: you can edit multiple ticket types, review the result, and save all changes in one action.
If you leave the page with unsaved changes, the system will warn you.
